We hope you will take a moment to get to know our city and surrounding areas. Golden Empire Drum and Bugle Corps is proud to have members from all over the Golden Empire. Our county, Kern, is known for Agriculture and Oil but we are so much more. You will find a thriving Arts community, a variety of music from The Bakersfield Symphony, Jazz, Country (you've probably heard of the "Bakersfield Sound"), Rock, and of course we are very proud of our outstanding school music programs and bands. The Golden Empire is also known for enjoyable recreational areas that provide biking, hiking, sports, swimming, fishing, water skiing, boating, golfing and much more.
