What to bring:
Housing:
This is not an overnight camp. It's very important that you register in advance to let us know your housing plans/needs if you are coming from out of town. Local members, please let us know if you can host someone so we can help coordinate housing before the camp. We have always been able to accommodate our out of town members, but we do recommend having a backup plan.
Food:
Meals will not be provided, so you should plan to pack a lunch/dinner or bring money for food. There are several fast food options that are within a short driving distance. Also, please remember to have a nutritious meal and drink plenty of fluids before arriving each day so that you will have excellent energy during workshop/auditions.
Cost:
The only expense for the audition/workshop camp is the $40 audition fee. Cash and checks or money orders made payable to Golden Empire Performing Arts will be accepted at the camp in addition to credit/debit cards. If you are offered a spot in the corps, your first member contribution payment will be due at the next camp.
Forms:
All applicants should print out and complete the following forms:
When will I know my status?
You will know by the end of the weekend if you have been offered a spot, have received a “call-back” for the next camp, or aren’t ready for Golden Empire this year. Regardless, we appreciate your desire to join the corps and want you to leave with info and experiences that will help you continue to refine your skills.
Parents/Guardians:
Please share this info with your parent(s) or guardian(s): There will be a parent info meeting on Sunday at 3pm at BC. This will be a great time for them to learn more about Golden Empire and the drumcorps activity in general.
